Ever wanted to get all your ducks in a row?

Fair enough, because it sounds like a reasonable thing to want.

But some of ours aren’t even ducks. Maybe you have a toad — perfectly functional, absolutely not what the gurus would prescribe. Or a peacock, half finished, half working, but you’re not quite ready to let it go.

And sometimes the ducks are fine. Good ducks, even. Just not swimming in the same direction, because you’ve been adding to the row one at a time without ever getting above it to see everything clearly.

& that’s what The First Thing is for.

Getting a clear-eyed view of your own business.

So by the end, you’ll have a map. Where you’re going, who you’re going there with, what you already have for each stage of the journey — and what you don’t. Not handed to you. Built by you, which means you’ll actually trust it.

& you’ll stop googling solutions to problems you haven’t named yet. & the background hum goes quiet. & the next thing becomes obvious & so does the thing after that. & the business starts feeling like yours again.

The First Thing

Six weeks. A combination of live and pre-recorded sessions, short prompts to keep the thinking moving between them, and feedback as you build. By the end, your map — specific to you, built by you, yours to keep.

The full programme launches in Autumn 2026 at around £300. A small pilot is running this summer for £200 — same work, smaller group, a chance to shape it while it’s still being built.

If that sounds like good timing, put your name down.

You’ll also be joining The Snug – a small room for founders and creatives who love the work, but find the business around it has become a slog. More about The Snug >
